A special summer weekend of tango with Tomás Howlin in Missoula combined with the annual July 4th weekend dancing, potluck, camp-over at Lori & Patrick’s in Potomac!
Saturday, July 2nd
An intensive seminar fully focused on the Tango Body. No steps, no figures, no choreography. Only exercises, drills, and awareness practices. In this four hour program, Tomás will go over concepts of anatomy, body mechanics, and technique for dancing tango. This day will be broken into two sections from 1:00 to 3:00 and from 3:30 to 5:30.
Intensive is at the Downtown Dance Collective: 121 W. Main - And it does have AC!
Saturday evening milonga at the Missoula Winery: Montana's Premier All-Vinyl Tango Night. DJ: Nathan Zmolek-Smith.
Sunday, July 3rd
Two workshops with Tomás:
1:00 to 2:15 - The Turning Wheel - Discover the turning points in your dance. Unexpected twirls and turns in any position and at any given time with ease and flow.
2:45 to 4:00 - Breaking Rules - ‘Breaking rules’ is about play - little things here and there to break automatic patterns, and also ideas to ignite playfulness and creativity.
